FORTISSIMO WITH FAUNA

Posted on June 16, 2020 by Vibhor Tewari

With various scientific advancements, humans have become one of the most pathetic creatures in the world, not only have we deteriorated our natural resource but also harmed our animal counterparts. We have continuously destroyed the natural habitat of these animals for land development or agriculture and not only that, we are poaching and hunting animals for their fur, jewellery, meat or leather which have enormously contributed to the extinction of wildlife. Even though the rule of might is right is still prevalent in this ecological world but even that does not give us the right to harm or kill them because our very existence is based on their very existence. Killing them will only disturb the food chain and that will be fatal for the entire earth. If we check out the statistics for last year, the scientists have announced that three birds’ species “vanished from the earth for good” in 2018. Not only that, the earth is losing animal species 1000 to 10000 times the natural rate and that is all because of the activities that we humans are doing in this world.

There are various species like Amur Leopard, Gorillas, Sea Turtles, Tigers, Orangutans, etc which are on the verge of extinction and are still being hunted and killed by the greedy humans and if this continues this will also be the end of humanity. But if there are bad people, there are good people too. There are people who are making efforts to save these endangered species and I also believe in the same, to save these innocent creatures because, if we belong to the world they also belong to the world and like us they should also have their voices heard, and that will definitely be one of the most amazing scientific advancement in the world.

We all know that sound is basically nothing but vibrations and these vibrations are basically produced by everything, from the movement of the jet to the dropping of a pin everything has a vibration of its own and these vibrations travel via air to our ears where they are then decoded by the brain and we get the message. But as these vibrations have different frequencies we cannot hear every sound or due to the same fact our brain cannot decode every vibration and we hear just different sounds, like the mooing of a cow, the barking of a dog, etc. But this actually means that even these animals communicate among themselves and there is a slight possibility that they sometimes even understand us and I guess that is how a dog understands our command. Though there is no scientific proof for the same but sciences have proved that every organism has different brain chemistry, even no two human brains are the same, which means that every brain decodes these vibrations in a different way.
So if we somehow are able to create a device that decodes these vibrations, we definitely will be able to understand what an animal is saying and we definitely will be able to communicate with them as well. This will not only give us an idea about what goes into an animal’s mind but also we will know about how they feel about the situation we put them in. we know that every single one of us has an expectation, from a child to an aged person, everyone wants something or the other and such a device will give us a clear idea about what an animal expects from us and what we expect from them. Though they will be horrified by knowing what we expect from them but still we could go into some kind of symbiotic relationship. Recently David Roberts and Alper Bozkurt, a group of researchers from North Carolina State University have developed a device that will help bridge this communication gap. Though this technology isn’t meant to foster verbal communication but instead is meant to get a better readout of a dogs well-being and emotional state. Going further, there are various people all around the world, who claims to be an animal communicator; they claim that they can communicate with both the living and the dead animals, but there is no scientific prove about the same, so again it might all be a scam or a real deal, well no one knows about it and if this true, so the idea of seeing such a device might also come true one day.
It is also pertinent to mention here that animals are strong and mighty and can do things that even a human cannot. We know that a rhesus monkey called Albert 1 and a dog named Laika were the first creatures to go into space, only if they could communicate with humans our knowledge about the universe would have been entirely different. So if we are able to create such a device then we surely have a chance to unwrap the hidden mysteries of the world. We could communicate with dolphins and whales and sharks and would know about everything that lies underwater and we could discover new elements and find answers to the questions that we never could otherwise.
Such an invention will not only help us develop economically or scientifically but will also help us develop morally and culturally and will help to bring both the human as well as the animal world closer and most important of all will guide us to make this earth a better place for every single creature that is present here and not only that this will definitely help in improving the current condition of the deteriorating nature.
